The Newberg-Dundee Police Department have arrested a former Newberg High School Girls’ Rugby Coach who is accused of molesting a student.
According to the public statement released by the Newberg-Dundee Police Department and a statement published by the Newberg school district on its website, the police department “…began a criminal investigation after the parent of a student from the Newberg High School reported to NDPD that their child was the victim of sexual abuse by a former coach at the Newberg High School.” The former coach was identified as 28-year-old John David Ali Gispert of Newberg, Oregon.
The victim is a 17 year old who had been a student of Gispert. According to the school district Gispert had ceased coaching for the district in June.
John David Ali Gispert was arrested on July 25th, 2023 and lodged in the Yamhill County Jail on the following charges:
- Seven counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree.
- Two counts of Using Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct.
- Two counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.
The press release statement by the Newberg Dundee Police Department states that, “…members of the Newberg School District cooperated fully with our investigation and continue to be a valuable partner during any investigations involving Newberg schools.
